Oil Free Otago to host first Oil Free Future Summit in Dunedin
The summit dates, 10-11-12 January, will coincide with Anadarko’s planned deep sea exploratory well drilling off the local coast. The event aims to show Anadarko along with the local and national government of New Zealand that there is a strong opposition to deep sea drilling in New Zealand’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The weekend will be educational and enjoyable with art, talks, networking, and action in a family friendly setting.
Friday, 10th January
Art Opening
The evening will include an art opening at the Community Gallery, exhibiting works by local and national artists themed, Oil On Canvas. Artists should register before 20 December. Artwork can be dropped of at the Community Gallery between 10 - 12 pm of the 9th of January.
Saturday, 11th January
Conference
Academic and professional talks given from experts closest to the issues. During three 2-hour sessions, hear why we don't need deep sea drilling, and how we can stop it. Also, stories from the Oil Free Seas Flotilla! Conference registration is required as tickets will sell out!
Music
Evening musical entertainment by a compilation of artists performing in a Super Slick Gig. Music, drinks, dance, laughter, fun times with like minds to unwind!

Church Service
A special themed church service will emphasize deep sea drilling as a moral dilemma of our time.
Day of Action
A Call-to-Action as a family friendly celebration at the beautiful Otago Harbour.
